To be honest, I enjoy all of the Resident Evil movies.
I’m a huge zombie fan. However, I’ve never liked the fact that Alice (Milla Jovovich), the lead character, has nothing to do with the multi-million dollar video game franchise. I love such characters as Jill Valentine, Chris and Claire Redfield, and Leon Kennedy, and I’m happy that some of these old favorites have made appearances in the movies.
And I’m not saying I don’t like Alice; I just wish she were a more semi-important character.
But I’m totally geeked about Resident Evil: Afterlife, mainly for one reason: Albert Wesker. This guy is the epitome of evil, and the leader of Umbrella, the corporation responsible for the T-Virus and the subsequent extinction of 99% of the world’s living population.
The creators of the video game, in my opinion, did a fantastic job developing Wesker. He is not a cliché or anything to be expected. He is mysterious, tough, and a pretty cool bad guy.
Needless to say, I’ve been waiting for his appearance in the movies. I just hope Writer/Director Paul W.S. Anderson does him justice.
Catch the movie on September 10, and check out the trailer and other storyline information
